We were given the task to design our own tentacle monster, at first when I approached this project I was original going to make a new creature which had never been seen before, however after looking at some other artists work I really liked the idea of changed an animal we know and changing it to something unknown and different. Looking in to animals to draw I started with a bear then making it have tentacles protruding from all over its body then I went to animals with already tentacle like appendages, an elephant was perfect for it with their trunks. So i produced this magical creature which I think came out really well i like the link to the real and the weird, the Photoshop drawing however needs some work but still conveys the image well enough.
